If, after setting up your Slingbox, your Internet connection no longer works or your digital cable no longer behaves as expected (e.g. pay-per-view selections do not work and special channels are not long accessible), the difficulty is probably due to the way in which the Slingbox is connected to the coaxial cable that is carrying your digital TV signal and your Internet connection. The coaxial ports on the Slingbox PRO and the Slingbox Tuner only pass the cable signal through in one direction only. So, anything you have plugged in to the cable after the Slingbox will not be able to send a signal back through the wire to your cable company.
So, if you have your cable running from the wall, through the Slingbox PRO or the Slingbox Tuner, and into your cable modem or your digital cable set-top box, that last device will usually not work properly because both the cable modem and the digital set-top box need to send signals back to the cable company in order to function properly.
The solution is to use the coaxial cable splitter that came with your Slingbox. If you split the cable at the source and run one cable to your Slingbox and the other to your modem or set-top box, all of your devices will continue to work as expected.
