Will SlingPlayer Mobile for Palm OS work with my phone?

Here are the system requirements:

  • A Palm® Treo™ 700p or 755p smartphone with 3G (EVDO) wireless service

  • A Palm® Centro™ smartphone with 3G (EVDO) wireless service

  • 1.2 MB free memory on device to install

  • A Slingbox with latest firmware (Note: The latest version of SlingPlayer for the Desktop has a firmware version that meets this minimum requirement)

  • Remote viewing enabled

  • A Windows or Mac OS computer on a home network with latest version of SlingPlayer desktop application installed (for setting up remote viewing for Slingbox)

  • A high-speed (broadband) Internet connection of at least 256Kb upstream speed at home

What’s in SlingPlayer Mobile for Symbian OS v1.0?

Offering a familiar SlingPlayer Mobile experience, this version lets users

  • Conveniently switch among video input devices ranging from basic cable, digital cable or satellite receiver, to DVR and DVD players
  • Fully control programming via full menus and intuitive icons
  • Watch TV in different viewing modes such as Full Screen and Audio Only, and adjust video screen size/ aspect ratio
  • Enjoy stereo audio and listen via Bluetooth headset where supported by mobile device
  • Stream from Slingbox with advanced connectivity such as 3G and beyond cellular connection (e.g. HSDPA) or Wi-Fi where supported by mobile device


 Using a Computer

To install from a PC:

1. Drag and drop the SlingInstaller.prc file onto the Palm Quick Install application. Make sure that you select Handheld as the installation destination.

2. Perform a HotSync on your Treo.  SlingInstall will be installed in the Multimedia category of applications on your Treo.

3. Open SlingInstall on your device and install SlingPlayer Mobile for Palm OS onto your handheld.


To install from a Mac:

1. Double-click on the SlingInstaller.prc file. Install Handheld Files launches. Make sure that you select Handheld as the installation destination.

2. Perform a HotSync on your Treo.  SlingInstall will be installed in the Multimedia category of applications on your Treo.

3. Open SlingInstall on your device and install SlingPlayer Mobile for Palm OS onto your handheld.





Over-the-Air

On the browser on your phone, visit the Sling Media website (www.slingmedia.com).

Navigate to the Downloads page and download the SlingPlayer for Palm OS app directly to your phone.
