SlingPlayer for Windows 2.0 PUBLIC BETA 2 replaces your currently-installed SlingPlayer software. It only works with current and previous Slingbox models sold in the United States. This software is not intended for installations outside of the United States.
Important Note: This download of SlingPlayer for Windows 2.0 PUBLIC BETA 2 is pre-release software meant for evaluation purposes only. You should regularly back up your data while using this software.
If you do not wish to use pre-release software, please download SlingPlayer for Windows 1.5 instead.

Click the Download button to copy the installer file to your Windows PC. Once the download is complete, open the file to install SlingPlayer.

Minimum Requirements
The faster your PC and home network are, the better the picture quality will be. When using SlingPlayer to watch TV while away from home, your Internet upload speed at home is what matters. 256 kbps is the minimum suggested speed. Faster is better.
Here is the minimum of what you need to start Slinging:
- At least 1 Slingbox
- Microsoft Windows® Vista or Windows XP SP2 and later
- 1 GHz processor
- 256 MB RAM
- 150 MB available disk space for installation
- 1 GB available disk space for live TV buffering
- 24-bit graphics
- 16-bit sound
- Network connectivity

SlingPlayer for Windows 2.0 PUBLIC BETA 2 may not work with some proxy servers
If you need to enter proxy server settings manually, SlingPlayer may not be able to connect to a Slingbox outside of your local network. But please give it a try and let us know if it doesn't work. Send us feedback by selecting Help > Provide Feedback in the SlingPlayer viewing window.

Back up your Favorites before installing
SlingPlayer for Windows 2.0 PUBLIC BETA has a completely new Favorites feature within the SlingPlayer Guide. If you need to go back to SlingPlayer for Windows 1.5 for any reason, your upgraded favorites list will be lost. We strongly recommend backing up your Favorites by exporting a copy prior to upgrading to SlingPlayer for Windows 2.0 PUBLIC BETA. Here's how.

Slingbox directory no longer syncs with SlingPlayer Mobile via ActiveSync
If you installed SlingPlayer Mobile on a Windows Mobile Pocket PC or Windows Mobile Smartphone using the desktop installer, your Slingbox directory contents will no longer sync to your phone once you have install SlingPlayer for Windows 2.0 PUBLIC BETA.
We are aware of the problem and are working to get it resolved as quickly as possible.
