BlackBerry smartphone requirements
- A supported BlackBerry smartphone with 3G wireless service and/or Wi-Fi Internet connectivity, as well as the following minimum device software versions. (To check your BlackBerry device software version, select Options from your home screen, then select About. Third line shows the device software version installed.)
- Bold – minimum 4.6.0.0 and above; optimal at 4.6.0.167 and above
- 8900 – minimum 4.6.1.0 and above; optimal at 4.6.1.114 and above
- 8820 – minimum 4.5.0.0 and above; optimal at 4.5.0.110 and above
- 8350i – minimum 4.6.1.0 and above; optimal at 4.6.1.83 and above
- 8320 – minimum 4.5.0.0 and above; optimal at 4.5.0.81 and above

We strongly recommend that when connecting to your Slingbox you use a 3G cellular or Wi-Fi connection that meets our minimum network download speed requirements.
Slingbox Requirements
- A Slingbox is required to use SlingPlayer Mobile
- Your Slingbox needs to be remote viewing enabled
- SlingPlayer Mobile for BlackBerry works best if the Slingbox Software is up to date. To make sure that your Slingbox is up-to-date, be sure to download and install the latest version of SlingPlayer Desktop on your home computer and connect to your Slingbox. If an update is available, it is installed at that point.
Computer & Home Network System Requirements
- SlingPlayer installed on a PC or Mac on your home network for setting up Internet Viewing on your Slingbox
- A high-speed (broadband) Internet connection of at least 256Kb upstream speed at home
